Assistant Director of Nursing

We are seeking a strong, experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This role provides clinical and operational oversight for one floor of our skilled nursing (25 beds), and is a key role in staff leadership, quality of care, and regulatory compliance.

 Position Overview

The ADON supports the Director of Nursing by supervising nursing staff, overseeing resident care, ensuring accurate documentation, and enforcing facility policies. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to hold staff accountable while supporting a positive team culture.

This is a Monday through Friday position, with on-call participation required. This on-call schedule may involve occasional weekend coverage as operational needs arise.

Pay: $81,000.00 – $92,000.00 per year

Pay is based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise licensed nurses and CNAs on an assigned skilled nursing floor
  • Provide resident assessments, including change-of-condition evaluations
  • Review nursing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Enforce facility policies, procedures, and standards of care
  • Support staff through coaching, education, and corrective action as needed
  • Assist with audits, QAPI initiatives, and survey readiness
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and occasional weekend coverage

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Previous management or supervisory experience
  • Skilled nursing facility experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to enforce policies consistently and professionally

Preferred:

  • Wound care certification or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months
